Formularize

I received an email from a colleague today asking me to "formularize" myself with a new process.

I found this incredibly funny and forwarded the comment to another colleague who responded as follows:

Formularize - verb – created as a combination between familiarise and formulate the point being that less effort is expended by the speaker on using two words and wasting energy. Another example of a such a word type is “egest”, meaning eat and digest. Also look up “summerise” not to be confused with “summarise” – used “At summerise I have breakfast” – in stead of saying “In summertime when the sun rises I have breakfast” Many more of these creative and innovative ways to shorten our outgoing communicative efforts whilst confusing the carp out of our co-communicators can be found most especially from predominantly Afrikaans speaking individuals, but surprisingly also many of our native Engilsh colleagues.

Funny stuff right? I think it's these comedic additions to our day which keep us sane.
